Valentine's Day and My Favorite Spot in Richmond

Well, Tappan outdid himself.  For Valentine's day, neither of us usually do anything very special, but this year Tappan surprised me and went all out.  It was the best Valentine's day ever.

I worked nightshift on Sunday February 13th, so I slept in until about 3pm on Feb 14th.  Tappan told me to be ready to be picked up around 5:45, so I went for a 5 mile run and then rushed around to get ready.  I had no idea where we were going, it was going to be a complete surprise!

I got dressed (Tappan had to tell me what type of thing to wear since I had no idea where we were going) and we drove downtown.  I had no clue what was next, but I was so excited!

We ended up at my FAVORITE spot in Richmond, Libby Hill park.  Tappan had brought all the supplies for a Thai food picnic!!!!  If you have spent any time with me, you would know that this was the PERFECT idea.

The timing was perfect, the sun was getting ready to set.

Pad Thai is my favorite meal in the entire world and he got takeout (my favorite Pad Thai Shimp, extra spicy, no bean sprouts).

At some point, a random lady walked by and told us that alcohol wasn't allowed open in the park, but we were almost done with our glasses of wine, so we weren't terribly worried.  And if a policeman came by, we would just explain that we had no idea...it's not like we were sitting out with 40oz. beers or anything crazy like that.

When we were finished with dinner, I had a lady who was walking her dog take out photo.  I had to document this amazing view!!

Such a fun date.  He even picked up a set of balloons and treats for me:
