Grocery Store Sushi with Homemade Spicy Orange Sauce

Whenever I go to pick up sushi at my local grocery store, I am always tempted to get the sushi with TONS of orange sauce drizzled all over it with all the crunchy fried bits on top.

But then I think about those fried pieces and rich orange sauce eventually streaming through my veins and I opt for the healthier-ish rolls...

And I just make an easy, healthy version of the orange sauce at home!
Light Orange Sauce
-1/2 cup light mayo
-1 to 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce (more or less depending on desired level of spice)
-a squeeze of lime juice

Sushi...take it or leave it?
LOVE it.  I'll try pretty much any type, don't love the sashimi stuff though.

  1. I LOVE sushi. LOVE. I'll eat anything.

True but slightly gross story: Last week while we were in the bahamas we caught a few black fin tuna. When our friend cleaned them he cut a chunk off and I ate it... right off the fish that we had just caught an hour or so before. Black fin isn't what they serve in resturants - it had a different taste. Very fishy, but still good.

    1. WOW now that's fresh. The thing is that it is probably fresher and cleaner to eat it how you did vs. getting it in a restaurant!

  3. I LOVE sushi! I had it the other night actually with a friend! That's so awesome that you made the homemade orange sauce! I pretty much like any kind except for anything that says "eel sauce" on it...gross.

I love your blog and I recently found it through someone else's blog that I can't remember at the moment. Congrats on your marathon PR that is absolutely amazing and such an inspiration! I'm attempting to train for a half right now, but I've been having IT band injuries that are holding me back and are extremely frustrating. Good luck on upcoming races!
