I have a good feeling that registration will not fill up as quickly this year as it has in years past because of the more difficult qualifying times. I'm disappointed because I've been too busy to read the news and do my proper internet information stalking, so I'm not sure what the reports are saying about registration so far. But I really want to run Boston 2013 with my friend Brittany whose qualifying time was less than 5 minutes so I'm hoping there's still plenty of room for people to register.
Monday morning the folks who fit within that 5 minute window get to register.
Ok gotta go back to sleep (I worked nightshift last night and took a quick break from sleep to register haha), we'll catch up soon!
What do you think...will all the people who qualified by less than 5 minutes have an opportunity to register or is it going to fill up too soon?
Fingers crossed, I hope everyone has a chance!

Runners world posted 6581 have submitted an application through 8am this morning. That and the 1400 deferred people is about 8000 leaving about 1300 spots. Last year at this time just over 10,000 had registered. Based on some analysis of last year numbers and this years I think they will remain open after the second week with about 3000 spots. I have not been so busy at work that I have not had time to do this analysis. Ha! IN OTHER NEWS I CAN'T WAIT FOR APRIL!!!!!!
ReplyDelete13000 spots not 1300!
DeleteI do hope everyone who is trying to get in does...but I figure you have to limit space or so supply can increase demand...but then again it may be about volume not about popularity...i digress..
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you, Boston is a terrific experience. I am so bummed that I can't register. Stupid running injury :-(
