Registration Confirmation X 2 and Weekend

This past week I got two pretty exciting registration confirmation e-mails....

My Boston Marathon confirmation arrived on Tuesday and I've just left it sitting at the top of my inbox so that I can stare at it like a creeper every time I open my e-mail :)
I'm still in disbelief that I'm going to be running the Boston Marathon, feels like I'm living someone else's life or something.  I still get a little giddy rush when I think about it.  I may or may not get tears in my eyes about it when I think on it for a little while!

I have great news as a follow-up to my Boston post from a week and a half ago:  Brittany, my dearest Richmond running buddy, just found out today that she's doing Boston as well (woohoo!!) so I can't wait to start planning our adventure.

And today my confirmation for the Runner's World Half Marathon festival showed up as well.
As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I am going to run the Runner's World "Hat Trick" 5K, 10K, and half marathon all in one weekend!  Obviously I'm not going to be shooting for any personal records for those three races, it'll be more of a series of fun runs.  Use code BLOGGER25 for a 10% off code if you want to join me!

Did you know that Boston Registration is STILL available?  It re-opens at 10am today and will remain open until the field size limit is reached.  How long do you think it'll take until it fills up??

I worked nights all weekend long (Friday 7pm to 7am , Saturday 7pm to 7am) so the highlight of my weekend was going to my friend's baby shower!
I'm on the bottom left in my favorite pink dress with green leaves.
Yes, I know I always wear that dress, but I was too post-nightshift-sleepy
to find something more original :(
Granger wanted to announce news of my friend's baby to the world!
Ellie, thanks for hosting, I had a wonderful time!

What was the highlight of your weekend?
And please TELL ME if you're running Boston 2013 too!!
I want to figure out some sort of way to keep track of who my Boston 2013 bloggy buddies are.  I'll start brainstorming a way for us to follow each other, maybe I'll start a google doc spreadsheet (I'm a spreadsheet nerd at heart) or something like that.
PS I have some super exciting news to share in the next week or two!! (OK I know, I don't like it when people do cliff-hangers like that, but I need to wait for some details to be confirmed before I share more info w you!)

  2. Congrats on getting in!!!!! I am actually surprised that registration is still open. Makes me wonder if I should sign up? I know that it would be dumb of me to do so, but until it officially closes that is all I will think about.

  13. That is so amazing, Katherine! I think I can finally admit that Boston is on my bucket list. It really does scare me to death, because at this point, I can't even keep the pace I need for Boston for a 5K....but I have been slowly, but surely improving...so I'm just going to be patient and see where my training takes me. I can't wait to hear how it goes!!

  18. YAY!!! That's so exciting!! And Brittany got in too! That's going to be an AMAZING adventure to plan! I'm definitely jealous. Over the weekend I was asked to be in the Canadian Olympic Heroes Parade and rode with the torches in a double decker in Toronto!

  19. Yay, I'm so excited for you! I wish registration wouldn't fill up until the first week of November (my next race where I'm aiming to qualify, fingers crossed), but that's probably a long shot. You are going to have soooo much fun! And please buy the jacket. I think I'm more excited to buy a Boston Marathon jacket than I am to run the race. That's sad. Please don't tell anyone else about that.:)
