Unbelievable Swag Goodies

I was going to try to be creative and weave info about each of the wonderful products that I got at the Runner's World Half Marathon Festival last weekend into my other recap posts.  However, I wanted to make sure that I covered them all, so here's a little product summary post so that I can look back and ooggle at this later.

I want to thank each of the generous companies, I am so so grateful for everything.

I still can't believe how absolutely amazing last weekend at Runner's World was.  In case you missed them, here are my posts on:

Alright, now down to business.  I've linked each of the individual companies and products if you'd like more details about anything.

Running Skirts
We each were allowed to pick out our own skirt from Running Skirts.
I chose the "Distance Athletic Skirt" because I love numbers.
True story: I was obsessed with calculus back in high school/undergrad.
Thanks to my friends from Running Skirts for the fabulous skirt.
Not only are you two very speedy,
you make one heck of skirt.
FreeMotion Fitness Apparel
Cute blue running top and adorable running jacket
from FreeMotion Performance Apparel.
Here's a zoom-in of the cute feminine
details on the running jacket.
Sweaty Bands
We were each allowed to choose TWO Sweaty Bands...
and it's true, they don't slip!

I chose a purple/lavender color and
pale yellow with bees
Altra Zero Drop Shoes
We were each fitted for our own pair of Altra shoes.
I picked the Superiors for trail running.
Check out the footprint on the sole.
Golden Harper, the founder
(who holds a record for a marathon as a 12 year old of 2:45)
explained the benefits of zero drop footwear and efficient running form.
More on that in another post.
Oakley Running Apparel
Did you know Oakley makes running clothes?
They do and they are so comfy and very flattering too.
I was lucky enough to get to wear this lovely
sports bra,
capri pants,
tank top, and
long sleeve top.
Tina, Amanda, and I in our Oakley outfits after the Half Marathon
The Stick
We also each got to pick out a Stick.
I chose the stiff stick and it really helped my muscles recover
and get through the Hat Trick weekend.
SwitftWick Socks
These compression socks have some secret ingredient
that keeps your feet from smelling.  Just ask Lindz :)

Snacks!
delicious Baked Lentil Chips and
sustainably caught Wild Planet Tuna.
Loved the chips, I want to pick up a bag next time I'm at the store.
a Runner's World bag that I can reuse for groceries, etc.
Memorabilia
A copy of the Big Book of Marathon Training,
signed by the authors Jennifer Van Allen,
Bart Yasso, and Amby Burfoot
Jen Van Allen and Amby Burfoot's
personal touches on my book
As you may remember, I met Shalane and
she signed this card for me.
All expo attendees got their photo taken and green-screened
onto the cover of a mock Runner's World magazine
HUGE Thank you to Runner's World and Rodale for EVERYTHING.

Have you tried any of the above products?!  Any favorites?

  1. Free Swag is Great!!

I just tried that STICK over the weekend when my daughter's CC coach gave her his to use b/c she has had some issues with muscle cramping...very cool~easy to use~ and does the trick.....I was imagining that I was flattening my fat with it as one flattens dough with a rolling pin. ;-)

(yea...it didn't work that way though...)

    1. Yes the stick is pretty darn incredible! It's like a mini massage. I was tempted to get the one for your foot too, seems like that'd feel very good after a long run.

  2. Great swag!!!! Any swag is good, but you hit the jackpot. That running jacket is to die for- love the detail on it. I might need to add it to my wishlist for my birthday or Christmas. :-)

  8. Wow, that is a ton of gear! Awesome! My favorite was probably the Altra zero drop shoes, I like how the shoes actually look more rounded up top, giving your toes more room it seems. And that cover photo pic is great!

I just bought Saucony Kinvara shoes, and while I love them so far - unfortunately they are too narrow for my right pinky toe, I've gotten a blister there every time I've ran in them so far. I'm curious what they are going to recommend for me when I go back there - either a wider version of Kinvara or another shoe altogether. Just annoying since I really like them running and feel wise.
