The Garmin Forerunner 10.
I am a loyal Garmin user and I'd like to spread the Garmin love to you.
The Forerunner 10 is a simple, easy-to-use GPS running watch that you can use to track your:
-distance
-pace
-time
-calories
-time/distance PRs
Key Features:
-Virtual pacer enables you to compare your current running pace to a target pace that you pre-set.
-When you're done with your run, you can upload the data to Garmin Connect, share with others, and analyze away :)
-And it is water resistant up to 50 feet. This is so important because this is not the case with many higher-end runner GPS watches...
Comes in 3 colors...green (the most popular color), black, and pink. The black has a slightly larger face and wider wrist band than the green/pink.
The Forerunner 10 is borderline microscopic when you compare it to my trusty ol' Garmin 305.
To enter the giveaway for this green Garmin Forerunner 10, please leave a comment below telling me why you run...what motivates you to get out there and push through that extra mile?
For a BONUS entry, please follow me on twitter if you'd like and tweet about the giveaway...and let me know with a comment. You can use something like: "check out @NeonRunnerKat's @Garmin #giveaway at www.neonblonderunner.com/2012/12/garmin-forerunner-giveaway.html #Run #HolidayGiveawaySeries #LoveMyGarmin"
I'll select a winner via random.org at midnight on Thursday 12/20. Thanks for entering!!

ReplyDeleteI run to keep sane! It's my outlet. There is nothing better than running a long run with my running group on Saturday morning and laughing and talking the whole time!
ReplyDeleteMy dog loves running on trails so taking her out on trails helps keeps me going!
ReplyDeleteI run for me time, the feeling of the movement and the joy of it all, not to mention..sanity. What gets me through that last mile, knowing I won't be happy if I don't push it and competitiveness.

ReplyDeleteI started running for fitness/weight loss and now I run for FUN - never thought I'd say that!
ReplyDeleteRunning for me is free therapy. I push through each mile knowing my mom is watching over me and smiling! I run because she can't.
ReplyDeleteI run for the mental stability. :)
ReplyDeleteI push for that extra mile because even though it might hurt at the time, I know it'll be worth it in the long run! (no pun intended lol)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Like many others, I run to free my mind and for my mental health :). I'm in grad school right now, so I need time to zone out and a run does that for me!

ReplyDeleteMostly, I run for me. I run to feel - it's how I express myself. My anger, happiness, love, tears - it all comes out. Good or bad, I run!
ReplyDeleteRunning has helped me deal with a lot of things mentally and it has been my focus over the past year. I have competed in four half marathons this year and my challenge for 2013 is the London marathon in April!
ReplyDeleteI run for my sanity
ReplyDeleteI run to cope. After I lost my boyfriend suddenly to complications from a massive heart attack, I turned to my sneakers for comfort. Turns out, this coping strategy has worked pretty well for me through grad school and now post grad :)
ReplyDeleteI followed you on twitter and tweeted.
ReplyDeleteI honestly run because I can. Having had two knee surgeries, I never thought it would be possible for me to run -- let along run relatively fast, and yesterday I broke the 22 minute barrier for a 5k. I'm going to run as long as my body lets me.
ReplyDeletetweeted and I already followed you :)
ReplyDeleteI run because I sign up for races and it's silly to race with no training :) But really, I run because I like the challenge, and because it's something I can do for myself to make my day a little bit better!
ReplyDeleteI run because it helps me put things in perspective. Also because I can and some people cannot.
ReplyDeleteI run to get faster and to stay sane! And because it makes me feel STRONG.

ReplyDeleteThat being said, every run is a victory.
Great giveaway! This Garmin sure is tiny compared to my first one that was almost the length of my forearm!

I run because I love it! I love being outside and moving! Running makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteI run to get healthy. It's not always easy since I'm probably the slowest runner on the planet but I'm pushing myself and have a goal of getting faster in 2013!
ReplyDeleteI love running because it gets me outside. I learn how to push myself, and most importantly is how I met my wife and we can run together.
ReplyDeleteI started over a year ago when I realized I needed to make some major health changes for my wife. Since then I have ran over 650 miles, 23 races and lost 40 lbs. My wife and I run races together and our health has improved so much. My friends that I race with are my motivation as well because we all push each other to run farther and faster.
ReplyDeleteI have the Garmin 305 and I <3 it BUT it is huge on my arm! The new one looks so much smaller - and I love the pink and green colors! Finishing up my run and uploading the data is my motivation. I get so excited to see the miles pile up! I would love to try this new model, but am happy with my 305 and will use it every run! Merry Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteI run becuase I sucked at it as a kid. All through school we had to run in gym class, and I always struggled, even with short distances, but I was always envious of those who could run. I decided to finally stop being a pansy in 2006, when I ran my first race. This was not exactly the way I had hoped to start running, but it was a good reality check for me. It wasn’t until two years later that I realized running actually isn’t half bad – if you keep doing it. After a number of 5ks and 5 milers, I made the decision to run my first half marathon in 2009. And guess what? I loved it (once the pain subsided). If you had asked me a couple of years ago if I wanted to run 13.1 miles, I would have laughed in your face. However, I find that the longer distances are actually more enjoyable than the short distances - I have since completed 4 half marathons and am contemplating my first full. I keep running becuase I love the sense of accomplishment when you beat a goal that you once thought impossible.
ReplyDeleteI run to be and stay healthy and for those who cannot ;)
ReplyDeleteI run to keep my sanity. Sometimes that's the only "me" time I get and what better way to do it. A garmin would really help me maximize that time. :)
ReplyDeleteI love running because it brings me peace of mind and serenity. This time of year especially, we all need a little peace.
ReplyDeleteI run as a way to relax from the stress of school and work!
ReplyDeleteI started running to get in shape after the birth of my son, so he could have a healthy mama. Now that I've been running a while I run because I love it, and I like seeing myself get faster.

ReplyDeleteI began running because I had knee surgery and was told I couldn't run. It was the first time I had a desire to run - and once I got cleared by my PT, I've been running ever since. It gives me a sense of control over my own body as well as time to clear my mind and forget all the worries in the world. It's also given me a chance to get to know lots of new people and fun destinations for running!

I get motivated by thinking about all the other people out there running and I need to have an edge on them. My competitive spirit keeps me going that extra mile

ReplyDeleteI've had my eye on this gps watch for awhile now! I love the way running makes me feel. To me, I feel the best after running than any other form of cardio and love how I can just get lost in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI run for me! It's basically the ONLY thing that I do completely for myself, and it's my me-time. No thinking necessary if I don't want to; sometimes I need it to just be about putting one foot in front of the other.
ReplyDeleteI run to fit in my pants and to chase down prs. I want to get more consistent with my pace this would really help.
ReplyDeleteI love running because it's the cheapest form of therapy...lots of time to think!! I run the extra mile for the extra cookie. And for PRs!
