Klean Athlete

I'm not ridiculously demanding about what I eat, but I DO like to be able to look at the ingredient lists on my food and understand what I'm putting into my body.

This is especially true when it comes to fueling before or after my beloved hobby of running!

When I was given the opportunity to try Klean Athlete's products, I couldn't wait to check them out for myself-- they're made up of exactly what I want but don't have any extra junk that I don't need.

...NO yeast, wheat, gluten, soy, corn, sugar, or starch.

...NO artificial coloring, preservatives, or flavoring.

...it's just simply high-quality nutritional supplements to support your healthy lifestyle and help you reach your potential!

The package arrived and it was beautiful.  Simple, modern, fresh.  Right up my alley.

In addition to a container of Klean Isolate Whey Protein and Klean Multivitamin, the kind folks over at Klean Athlete included all sorts of little goodies for me, including a waterbottle, stickers, temporary tattoos (woohoo!), gym bag, and coin purse.

Klean Multivitamin is specially formulated for the unique needs of athletes-- for example it has an optimal amount of magnesium and calcium, apparently many traditional multivitamins contain too much of them, I had no idea!
After using the Klean Isolate Whey Protein for a couple of weeks, I have honestly become a huge fan.  It's simply pure whey protein isolate, free of artificial flavoring or sweetener.

I love it because when I get home from a run, I just mix up a scoop in a tall cup of water and quickly drink it up, along with a quick carb snack, before I do my post-run stretches and exercises and before I sit down for a more substantial meal.

It satisfies my hunger, doesn't make me feel nauseated, and I really just like to picture my muscles being happy and rebuilding with all the protein.

You can mix it with anything else (juice, milk, etc.) to add flavor, but I like it plain.

You can also add it to oatmeal, pancake mix, etc. if you want to sneak some extra protein into your meals.

FitFluential LLC compensated me for this Campaign.  All opinions are my own.

taken everything out of the box.
Do you use protein powder??
Prior to a couple months ago, I didn't really use protein powders, but since I've been logging in more miles for Boston Training, I've been looking for quick and easy ways to increase my protein/caloric intake post-run.  I've been lucky enough to try a few different brands and I'll follow up later this week with review of another type that I've been enjoying.

  1. I haven't used protein powders but I'm curious. I just started doing my research on them, so this post was helpful! Thanks for the info!

    1. Yeah it's a quick and easy way to get protein. I know it's best to get directly from your diet, but sometimes when you don't happen to have protein rich foods sitting around (like me because I'm horrible about going to the grocery store) it's a great alternative!!

  2. I used to use protein powders more than I do currently. I love mixing vanilla protein powder into my greek yogurt bars. Tastes pretty good!

  3. I've only just started using Mushashi vanilla protein powder, and can I just say it's delicious and I'm in love with it!
There are so many fab things about protein powder- like you said, it's so easy just to whip up a quick protein drink after a tough workout, or you can get much more creative, and sneak in some quality protein in some favourites: oats and pancakes, especially! :)

    1. Yes, I really want to try it in oats/oatmeal, what a great way to add some protein to an otherwise low-protein meal!

  4. I use protein powder and love it. On days when I do a morning workout, I just drink a shake as my pre-workout fuel.

    1. I'm big on having protein after I run, I usually eat a granola bar with some protein in it before I run! If I lift weights, I'm more likely to eat/drink something rich in protein beforehand.
