    1. Hey Melanie, thanks for stopping by! The first year or so that I ran, I didn't pay attention to speed or own a Garmin or anything like that...and then I started to concentrate a little more on pushing myself on my runs-- nothing difficult, just a little more on the comfortably faster side. And then once per week (or so, nothing formal), I'd try to dedicate a workout to doing some really 'fast' miles. Which is a totally relative term, but you could do a couple miles at 5K pace. I don't run "junk" miles, I usually make sure I put an effort into my runs. I do take "recovery" runs and I totally listen to my body. So this being said, everyone is totally different!

I wish I knew more about your story!

How long have you been running?

Do you use a garmin when you run?

If you want to talk more about this, please feel free to e-mail me NeonBlondeRunner @ gmail.com!

  3. Love your blog, which I just discovered. Very inspirational- even though I'm old enough to have run in neon back when it was popular in the late 80s. Thanks so much for sharing your running experiences. Yours is by far the best women's running blog I've found. My Marathon PR is 3:30 and I qualified for and ran Boston in 1991. After achieving that goal, I cut back on my running for many years. Now I'm seriously back into it. Love those age- adjusted tables! Anyway, I'm working up to a spring marathon and targeting 4:00 hours. Planning to requalify for Boston by 2014.

    1. Angela, thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate your comment!!

Yes, I was a little wee one in the 80's and that's when my love for the neon started :)

Love how you were so speedy and qualified for Boston way before it was popular to do so. Hope to see you at Boston 2014, you'll qualify before you know it!
